We verify names, dates, locations, links, and material claims before publication. Public-source stories identify their principal sources and display a last-verified date. An official source is preferred for hours, rules, schedules, meetings, and public programs.
Independence
Coverage is not exchanged for gifts, special treatment, advertising, or access. Relevant personal or financial conflicts will be disclosed.
Corrections
Substantive errors are corrected promptly and transparently. See the corrections page to report a problem.
Community submissions
Tips and submissions are checked before publication. A submission may be edited, declined, or held for further verification. Opinion and community submissions will be labeled.
Use of artificial intelligence
AI tools may assist with research organization, formatting, transcription, translation drafts, and technical production. They do not replace source checking or editorial judgment. Public-facing facts and translations must be reviewed by a person before publication. Synthetic quotations, invented sources, and undisclosed fabricated images are not acceptable.
